Main activities / discussion
Claire Duncan and her colleague Loraine Mahuchi attended and did a presentation in regard to Bowel Cancer Screening and explained about the new initiative that was being launched in Sandwell. There was some lively discussion and forum members certainly were not shy in coming forward in regard to discussing the subject. Everybody commented that they certainly was a raising of awareness in regard to the subject. The new Older People Champion for Rowley Regis and Tipton Karen Owen attended and she spent time explaining her role and how it impacts on older people in the area. She also explained about the Healthy Passport scheme. We also discussed elections for Agewell Sandwell and the Later Life Partnership Board. As well as this the second conference for Rowley Regis was mentioned and members expressed an interest in attending Oldbury's Agewell conference.
Any decisions made
The forum endorsed the two people who had put themselves forward as representatives for Rowley Regis forum at Agewell Sandwell. The forum also endorsed the one person who had put themselves forward to represent Rowley Regis forum at the Later Life Partnership Board. The group decided to discuss further at the next meeting a conference in later May and the subject matter. Also a number of members had seen about Oldbury's conference and expressed an interest to attend to see if the play could be used at their conference.
