Oldbury Agewell Local Forum Report

Main activities

The forum centred around the presentation by Stuart Hall from Sandwell MBC on the Home Improvement Team and specifically KickStart. The Council has entered into partnership with the Home Improvement Trust to provide specialist loans for owner-occupiers aged over 60 or with a disability to carry out works to their home. It has also developed its own in house loans service in partnership with the West Midlands Regional Housing Board’s Kick Start Scheme and ART Homes Ltd called Better Homes. This is available for owner occupiers aged under 60.

The conference was mentioned also and members seemed enthusiastic about it.
