Main activities / discussion

We had a visit from Rachel Stevens and Jeanette Howes from the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHT Trust . They were consulting with us about the hospitals' plan to become a Foundation Trust. We were also invited to become members of the new Foundation Trust.

We asked a number of questions about the plans they were making. These were about the numbers of governors planned for the Rowley Regis area, provision of canteen at Rowley Regis, rehab wards in Sandwell, nurses feeding patients, mixed wards, level of care in hospital, matrons and trainee nurses, details of new governance arrangements (response to be passed to forum member identified), location of new hospital, recruitment of nurses, staff/patient ratio, uniforms, infection control.
