A health event for the over 50s in Sandwell was held at West Bromwich Town Hall on Thursday 22 March.
The event, hosted by Agewell and the Healthier and Safer Old Age project, celebrated the Healthy Passport Plus scheme. The Healthy Passport Plus is an incentive scheme aimed at people aged over 50, with health targets set in return for points which can be exchanged for prizes such as goodie bags and high street gift vouchers.
At the event, which ran from 11am – 3pm, those registered on the scheme collected their prizes, and there was an opportunity to earn more points through activities on the day. Participants were also treated to light entertainment and refreshments.
West Bromwich older people’s champion, Bob Tidmarsh, who is a ‘Tour Guide’ for Passport Plus, explained: “As well as treating those on the Healthy Passport Plus scheme for all their hard work in improving their health, the event also provided an opportunity for the public to get information surrounding other health issues such as foot health, medicine management, healthy eating and much more.”
