The Smethwick Older People’s Conference
Joint Forum with Rowley Regis.

Decisions made

The subject of the meeting was the Sandwell MBC Care Home Modernisation plans and people who attended put forward many valuable views and opinions.

The first Smethwick Older People’s Conference at the end of November was held and was based on the theme of communities together. The event was filmed (which will soon be available on the Agewell website) and was opened by the Mayor of Sandwell Cllr Gurcharan Singh Sidhu and Chair of Sandwell PCT Richard Nugent. There were a number of acts that performed from a variety of communities that represented the cultural diversity of Smethwick. Over 160 older people attended and feedback was that the event was a rousing success.
