Health Service Journal and the Local
Government Chronicle Awards

Agewell’s Healthy Passports Scheme, which is operated through the Older People Champions, was up for the Tackling Health Inequalities Award at the Health Service Journal and the Local Government Chronicle Awards.

It is an incentive-based programme to encourage the over 50s to take part in a variety of healthy activities and interventions, targeting vulnerable sections of the elderly community.

At the glitzy award ceremony, the Healthy Passports Scheme was highly commended in the Tackling Health Inequalities category, and was narrowly beaten to the title by Burnley Borough Council. The commendation earned praise for Sandwell’s Joint Policy Unit and Agewell, who run the scheme.
