The First Older People's Conference
in Rowley Regis

Agewell Sandwell held the first ever conference in Rowley Regis aimed solely at older people on Friday 27 April at Blackheath Methodist Church, High Street, Blackheath.

This exciting event was open to anyone over 50 who lived in the Rowley Regis area.

Organiser Stuart Munger, Community Development Worker and Midlife Planning Coordinator with Agewell, explained: “Places were limited and were allocated on a first come first served basis. The venue was filled to capacity with over 80 older people. We wish we could have allowed more”.

A number of local and national organisations such as; Centro, Sandwell Primary Care Trust Food Team, Haden Hill House and the Fire Service were represented at the event.

On the day there was also a ‘Dolly Allen’ impressionist, Tai Chi, EXTEND gentle exercise and a ‘Who wants to be a millionaire’ style keypad consultation on want older people want in the area.
