In conjunction with Sandwell MBC Community Safety Team and the Sandwell Doorstep Crime Partnership, over July and August in each of the forums we held two sessions about Community Safety and people's feelings about crime. The first session for each of the forum was delivered by Chris King and PC Gerry Wintrip from Sandwell Doorstep Crime Partnership and informed people about Rogue Traders. Rosina Ottewall, from Sandwell MBC's Community Safety Team also spoke about what work was being done by their team in Sandwell. The follow up sessions were a creative consultation that were facilitated by the Cultural Sisters. They spent time talking with volunteers about what concerns they had and what words or sayings represented how they felt.
Each forum constructed, in conjunction with the Cultural Sisters, a door with sayings and words on to symbolise their feelings. The idea was to present this at the Agewell Conference and for it to be a talking point on Community Safety. Also based on the designs made by Agewell Volunteers we will be designing leaflets and fridge magnets to remind older people of the dangers of rogue traders.
