On the 18th November 2008 the Midlife Planning Team hosted an event at the Public with the Coming of Age Partnership (CoAP).The Coming of Age Partnership's main objective is to promote age diversity and equality in the West Midlands.
The event entitled 'Managing the Demographic Change' covered the age discrimination legislation which has now been in place for two years and yet many companies are still unsure of what to do and how to optimise the opportunities and benefits this legislation offers. The event was also aimed at employers to encourage the retaining, retraining and recruitment of older workers by recognising their transferable skills and knowledge. Speakers included Malcolm Boswell from Acas, Peter Tomlinson and Andy Finnie from CoAP and Stuart Munger from Agewell.
