About Agewell Sandwell

Agewell Sandwell represents the views of the borough's older people. This group have a more strategic approach and representative's from across the six towns will be responsible for bringing concerns, issues and opportunities from their local forums to the central group for discussion and action where appropriate. They will also be responsible for taking back information to the forums.

Agewell Sandwell also choose the representatives to attend boroughwide strategic groups on a number of subject matters. The minutes of the Agewell Sandwell meetings will also be posted on this website to enable the flow of information and to ensure older people who are not members of Agewell have the opportunity to be informed and to inform.

The Agewell Business Plan
2008 - 2010

The Agewell Business Plan 2008 - 2010 is driven and owned by older people and Agewell Sandwell members have been instrumental in its development. The initial discussions took place at the Agewell Sandwell away day with a series of workshops designed to discuss the key issues that concern older people.

Agewell Sandwell members were keen to ensure that Agewell had a clear set of aims and objectives  and equally important were the Agewell Vision and Values. These were well thought-out and designed to compliment the Vision and Values of Sandwell Primary Care Trust.

The development of the Business Plan takes into consideration the nine priorities of the Living Well in Later Life in Sandwell Partnership Strategy for people over 50, 2008 - 2010 and the key interventions listed in the Choosing Health Action Plan 2006 - 2010.  Also are listed two additional items, priorities 10 & 11 (Agewell & Environment). These last two priorities resulted from discussions at the Agewell Sandwell Away Day.
